It's the story of two hockey enthusiasts. Both spent their childhood days in icy Minnesota. Yet, they didn't meet until years later, when their paths would cross in Colorado prior to The 2002 Winter Olympic Games. Rob was hosting an Olympic Games Orientation Camp at Colorado College; Pat was a member of the medical team for the United States men's ice hockey team which was holding the camp. Both eventually relocated to Colorado, shared their enthusiasm for great vodka, and started Colorado Pure Distilling, LLC.
Pat Karns likes to win. He handles the business side of the operation. During the time Pat was affiliated with the United States hockey team, the team won the silver medal at the 2002 Olympic Games. Pat also had the pleasure of serving as head athletic trainer for the Colorado Avalanche during which time they won the Stanley Cup twice.
Rob Masters is our distiller. He learned his craft while creating top shelf spirits at another respected distillery. A lover of outdoor extreme sports, Rob is energetic, driven and holds a deep respect for the natural beauty surrounding him. He will stop at nothing when it comes to creating the purest, smoothest product possible.
Both men are passionate about life in general, and the distilling business in particular. You'll notice this the first time you speak with either one.
